Global Property Files in the Java GUI<br />

When a Java GUI user customizes the GUI, the customized settings are<br />

stored in property files, which reside in the user’s home directory. The<br />

property files include the following files:<br />

❏ Console settings files<br />

<strong>HP</strong>_OV_consoleSettings__<br />

<strong>HP</strong>_OV_consoleSettings_<br />

<strong>HP</strong>_OV_consoleSettings<br />

Refer to the OVO Java GUI Operator’s Guide for more information<br />

about saving console settings.<br />

❏ Resource files<br />

The Java GUI resource file itooprc. See also “About the itooprc<br />

Resource File” on page 336.<br />

❏ Browser settings files<br />

The browser settings file itoopbrw. Refer to the OVO Java GUI<br />

Operator’s Guide for more information.<br />

To override these individual settings, you can configure the Java GUI to<br />

use global property files from a shared location. The global property files<br />

override all individual settings with the following exceptions:<br />

❏ Startup parameters<br />

The following parameters control the connection to the OVO<br />

management server and are ignored in global mode:<br />

initial_node<br />

user<br />

passwd<br />

port<br />

locale<br />

❏ Allowed users<br />

The Java GUI continues to use individual property files of the<br />

administrator and, if so configured, of selected operators, if such files<br />

exist in the home directory of the user. See also “Using Individual<br />

Settings with Global Property Files” on page 358.<br />
