Changing Hostnames and IP Addresses in a Cluster Environment<br />

4. Make sure the database is running.<br />

If the database is not running, start it by entering:<br />

/sbin/init.d/ovoracle start force<br />

For more information about the Oracle database, see the OVO<br />

Installation Guide for the Management Server.<br />

5. Change the IP address or node name of the OVO management<br />

server in the OVO database.<br />

Use the following “old name / new name” scheme:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/OpC/utils/opc_node_change.pl -oldname<br />

OLD_FQDN -oldaddr OLD_IP_ADDR -newname NEW_FQDN -newaddr<br />

NEW_IP_ADDR<br />

6. Stop <strong>OpenView</strong>.<br />

Stop <strong>OpenView</strong> and all other integrated services (including OVO).<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstop<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovc -kill<br />

7. Shut down the database.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/sbin/init.d/ovoracle stop force<br />

8. Modify the OVO management server configuration.<br />

To change the hostname, enter the following:<br />

ovconfchg -ns sec.core.auth -set MANAGER <br />

ovconfchg -ovrg server -ns opc -set OPC_MGMT_SERVER \<br />

<br />

ovconfchg -ovrg server -ns sec.cm.client -set \<br />

CERTIFICATE_SERVER <br />

ovconfchg -ovrg server -ns bbc.cb -set SERVER_BIND_ADDR \<br />

<br />

NOTE You do not need to change the CERTIFICATE_SERVER if an other<br />

system is set as a certificate server.<br />
