To Enable Operators to Control OVO Agents<br />

By default, only an OVO administrator is allowed to start or stop OVO<br />

agents on the managed nodes through the OVO GUI. However, operators<br />

can make changes to this policy by updating OVO Status, which OVO<br />

provides (in the Application Bank) as a preconfigured OVO application.<br />

To enable operators to control OVO agents, follow these steps:<br />

1. From the menu bar, select Window:Application Bank....<br />

The Application Bank window opens.<br />

2. Select the application OVO Status from the Application Bank.<br />

3. Copy the application with Actions:Application->Copy.<br />

4. Rename and modify the application:<br />

a. Change the application attributes as follows:<br />

Application Name: OVO Agents Start<br />

Description: Starting of OVO Agents<br />

Application call: /opt/OV/bin/OpC/opcragt -start<br />

$OPC_NODES<br />

Start on Target Node List: Leave field empty.<br />

Executing user: root<br />

Password: Leave field empty.<br />

b. Select [No Window] (for example, X Application) from the option<br />

button.<br />

c. Click [OK].<br />

5. Select the application OVO Status from the Application Bank.<br />

6. Copy the application using Actions:Application->Copy.<br />

7. Rename and modify the application:<br />

a. Change the attributes as follows:<br />

Application Name: OVO Agents Stop<br />

Description: Stopping of OVOAgents<br />

Application call: /opt/OV/bin/OpC/opcragt -stop<br />

$OPC_NODES<br />
