Changing Hostnames and IP Addresses in a Cluster Environment<br />

6. Remove all entries from the SNMP configuration cache.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/xnmsnmpconf -clearCache<br />

7. Update the creation time of objects contained in the ovtopmd<br />

database.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovtopofix -U<br />

This command causes the objects to display again in all maps the<br />

next time they are synchronized.<br />

8. Restart the netmon process.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstart netmon<br />

9. Update <strong>OpenView</strong> with the changed hostname<br />

Enter the following:<br />

ping <br />

10. Update the <strong>OpenView</strong> Topology Database.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/nmdemandpoll <br />

11. Make sure the database is running.<br />

If the database is not running, start it with by entering the following:<br />

/sbin/init.d/ovoracle start<br />

Guide for the Management Server.<br />

12. Start <strong>OpenView</strong>.<br />

Start <strong>OpenView</strong> and all other integrated services (including OVO):<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstart<br />

13. Enable the HARG monitoring.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/lbin/ovharg -monitor ov-server enable<br />
