Changing Hostnames and IP Addresses<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/nmdemandpoll <br />

20. Make sure the database is running.<br />

If the database is not running, start it with by entering the following:<br />

/sbin/init.d/ovoracle start<br />

For information on the Oracle database, see the OVO Installation<br />

Guide for the Management Server.<br />

21. Start <strong>OpenView</strong>.<br />

Start <strong>OpenView</strong> and all other integrated services (including OVO):<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstart<br />

NOTE At this point, the agent starts forwarding its buffered messages.<br />

22. Log in to the OVO GUI.<br />

Start the OVO GUI, and log in as administrator. Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/OpC/opc<br />

23. Verify the templates.<br />

Verify that the templates are still assigned to the new node.<br />

24. Redistribute all Event Correlation templates.<br />

If you have changed the hostname, redistribute all Event-correlation<br />

templates assigned to the management server.<br />

Select Actions:Server->Install / Update Server Templates<br />

from the menu bar of the Node Bank window.<br />

25. Update the managed nodes or management server.<br />

Do one of the following:<br />

Management Server<br />

If you are running your system in a multi-management-server<br />

environment (using flexible-management features), perform the<br />

following steps on the management server:<br />
