Changing Hostnames and IP Addresses in a Cluster Environment<br />

To Reconfigure the OVO Management Server After<br />

Changing its Virtual Hostname or IP Address<br />

To reconfigure the management server after changing its virtual<br />

hostname or IP address in a cluster environment, follow these steps:<br />

1. Disable the HARG monitoring.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/lbin/ovharg -monitor ov-server disable<br />

2. Stop the management server.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstop opc ovoacomm<br />

3. Start the <strong>OpenView</strong> Topology Manager Daemon Service.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstart ovtopmd<br />

4. Update the OVO management server registration.<br />

If you have changed the hostname, update the OVO management<br />

server registration.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

rm /etc/opt/OV/share/conf/OpC/mgmt_sv/svreg<br />

touch /etc/opt/OV/share/conf/OpC/mgmt_sv/svreg<br />

/opt/OV/bin/OpC/install/opcsvreg -add \<br />

/etc/opt/OV/share/conf/OpC/mgmt_sv/itosvr.reg<br />

To find out how to reconfigure additionally installed subagent<br />

packages, see the manuals supplied with these packages.<br />

5. Stop the netmon process.<br />

If the netmon process automatically starts when the system starts,<br />

stop the netmon process.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstop netmon<br />
