Recommended Use:<br />

For students receiving instruction at LANGUAGE ! Levels 1, 2, <strong>and</strong> 3. Although the test can be used <strong>with</strong> general<br />

education students, we recommend that teachers check to see whether the test is already being used by special<br />

education services. Due to the nature of the test, trained personnel, like those in special education, are the best<br />

c<strong>and</strong>idates for administering the test.<br />

Subscales:<br />

The subscales of the WRMT-R recommended for use <strong>with</strong> the LANGUAGE ! curriculum are:<br />

Sight-Word Recognition -Assess skill in recognizing phonologically regular words.<br />

Decoding -Assess skill in using phonic <strong>and</strong> structural analysis to read nonsense words.<br />

Passage Comprehension -Assess comprehension in the context of a paragraph using a cloze technique.<br />

Test Forms:<br />

There are two equivalent forms of the test: Form G <strong>and</strong> Form H. If testing in both the fall <strong>and</strong> spring, use Form G<br />

as the pretest <strong>and</strong> Form H as the posttest. If testing fall to fall or spring to spring, it doesn’t matter which form you<br />

select.<br />
