Chapter I ), age and grade equivalents.

Recommended Use:
For students receiving instruction at LANGUAGE ! Levels 1, 2, and 3. Although the test can be used with general
education students, we recommend that teachers check to see whether the test is already being used by special
education services. Due to the nature of the test, trained personnel, like those in special education, are the best
candidates for administering the test.
Subscales:
The subscales of the WRMT-R recommended for use with the LANGUAGE ! curriculum are:
Sight-Word Recognition -Assess skill in recognizing phonologically regular words.
Decoding -Assess skill in using phonic and structural analysis to read nonsense words.
Passage Comprehension -Assess comprehension in the context of a paragraph using a cloze technique.
Test Forms:
There are two equivalent forms of the test: Form G and Form H. If testing in both the fall and spring, use Form G
as the pretest and Form H as the posttest. If testing fall to fall or spring to spring, it doesn’t matter which form you
select.
