The CD features still photographs, satellite images, and full motion video from the National Aeronautics and
Space Administration (NASA) and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and a treasure chest of information. There is a
wealth of information about the solar system, planets, moons, asteroids, the Earth's Sun, and space probes,
including slides shows, charts, diagrams, and graphs.
Much but not all of the program is interactive. A view of our solar system serves as the main menu. The mouse
pointer turns into a hand when it is over an object linked to one of the videos. Users can point and click to watch
videos on the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Asteroids, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and the Solar System.
Another menu has choices for planetary and Sun data charts sorted by size, location, orbital ecliptic offset, and
planet/moon data. There is a formatted glossary, but it, unfortunately, lacks any search or hypertext capability and
does not have any illustrations. There are over a dozen space-related high quality full motion videos with an
original musical score and narration. The programs also has numerous slides shows which are also scored and
narrated.
Company sources told Newsbytes the program is designed to be used by the entire family, from adults in search
of information and entertainment, to students in need of accurate, interactive resource material.
