The Connections in the Workplace eReader Software incorporates Attainment's eReader software which reads<br />

the stories aloud to students <strong>with</strong> professional narration. Text is highlighted word by word, line by line, or by<br />

complete sentence. Graphics are plentiful, contemporary <strong>and</strong> age-appropriate. A test at the end of each story<br />

provides speech support <strong>and</strong> an optional hint feature that directs students to the page that addresses each<br />

question. Students can access the software by mouse, touch screen, IntelliKeys or single switch. A unified<br />

management system helps the teacher quickly review or print out student performance data. Teachers can<br />

determine reading lists <strong>and</strong> set options that best suit each student's learning style. Choose word-by-word or<br />

natural speech narration, select the text highlighting approach <strong>and</strong> assign tests. eReader software is Windows<br />

only, 2000 or higher.<br />

The Health Advocacy Program (HAP) is an activity-based curriculum to teach adolescents <strong>and</strong> adults <strong>with</strong><br />

developmental disabilities how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Twenty lessons, each approximately one hour in<br />

length, provide basic information for improving nutritional health <strong>and</strong> physical <strong>and</strong> emotional well-being. The<br />

curriculum emphasizes healthy eating, but it also includes lessons on exercise, relationships, sexuality, stress,<br />

high blood pressure, diabetes <strong>and</strong> depression. The ultimate goal of HAP is to teach participants how to be their<br />

own health advocates.<br />
