Semple Math is a new and unique approach to teaching basic math skills. A special sequence of mnemonic
teaching strategies enables students to commit the basic facts to memory and, at the same time, develop a
concrete understanding of the abstract concepts that make up the Base 10 number system.
All students start at Level One to build a solid foundation. Special Sections describe adaptations for older learning
disabled students. Teachers can start at either Level One, Two or Three because each manual familiarizes the
teacher with the procedures and clues that students learned in the previous level.
Level 3 -- The 40 lessons cover all multiplication facts, long multiplication and multiplication word problems while
reviewing and expanding on place value, keeping a check book, rounding off, and making change. The manual
has special sections on older disabled students in each lesson.
Level 4 --- The first twelve lessons include review of work from Levels One, Two and Three, but the manual can
also be used with students who have not had Semple Math previously as long as they can add, subtract and
multiply. This Level concentrates on Division, Long Division, Fractions, Percents, and Linear Measurement.
