Language Practice provides systematic, focused attention to just one carefully selected skill at a time. Rules are
clearly stated at the beginning of each lesson. Key terms are introduced in bold type. The rules are then illustrated
with examples and followed by meaningful practice exercises.
Use:
Throughout the program, Language Practice stresses the application of language principles. In addition to
matching, circling, or underlining elements in a predetermined sentence, lessons ask students to use what they
have learned in an original sentence or in a rewriting sentence.
Language Practice is designed for independent use by students who have had instruction in the specific skills
covered in these lessons. Copies of the activities can be given to individuals or pairs of students for practice work.
If students are familiar with the content, the worksheets can be given as homework for reviewing and reinforcing
skills.
