interaction skills. Topics are presented in playfully illustrated stories. Each targeted skill has a story illustrating the<br />

skill being done appropriately <strong>and</strong> inappropriately.<br />

These simple stories provide a way to begin discussions. Also included are multiple corresponding activity sheets<br />

<strong>and</strong> carry-over activities for the classroom, community, <strong>and</strong> home.<br />

for introducing <strong>and</strong> teaching the skill, five instructional steps of skill mastery, <strong>and</strong> a checklist of common problems<br />

that may occur. The student page is designed to reinforce skill mastery from the child’s perspective. It begins <strong>with</strong><br />

a self-talk script that explains the benefits of mastering the skill. Next is a self-monitoring checklist of the steps<br />

needed to master the skill. The last segment is called My Story. It allows the teacher to individualize information<br />
