Semple Math is a new and unique approach to teaching basic math skills. A special sequence of mnemonic
teaching strategies enables students to commit the basic facts to memory and, at the same time, develop a
concrete understanding of the abstract concepts that make up the Base 10 number system.
All students start at Level One to build a solid foundation. Special Sections describe adaptations for older learning
disabled students. Teachers can start at either Level One, Two or Three because each manual familiarizes the
teacher with the procedures and clues that students learned in the previous level.
Each lesson begins with a measurable objective and a straightforward teaching activity that will allow your
students to achieve the objective. The lesson also includes a "Special Problems" segment that describes specific
teaching strategies for learning problems experienced by math disabled students. Numerous optional games,
activities and teacher-made supplementary materials are also included.
