TEST DESCRIPTION:
790.390 test
The Kaufman Speech Praxis Test for Children (KSPT) is an innovative new resource that assists in the diagnosis
and treatment of developmental apraxia (dyspraxia) of speech in preschool children.
Developed by Nancy Kaufman, a national authority on verbal dyspraxia, the KSPT identifies the level of
breakdown in a child's speech so that treatment can be established and improvement tracked. Easy to administer
and score, the test measures a child's imitative responses to the clinician, locates where the child's speech
system is breaking down, and points to a systematic course of treatment.
Results of the KSPT are useful beyond establishing an initial diagnosis. Gains in motor-speech proficiency can be
measured and quantified in several ways. Individual sections of the test can be used to establish treatment goals
and measure progress. KSPT results can also help generate individual education plans. This assessment tool is
essential for speech-language pathologists who work with children in public schools, hospitals, universities,
clinics, and private practice.
The KSPT kit contains: scoring instructions, norm tables, validity and reliability information, background about the
test development, and 25 test booklets, which can be used twice (once for the original assessment and once for a
follow-up test).
Khan-Lewis Phonological Analysis
Ages 2 through 16.
Khan, Linda M. L. / Lewis, Nancy P.
790.355 test
This assessment tool is designed for use in conjunction with the Goldman-Fristoe Test of Articulation, First
Edition. It can be used to diagnose and plan remediation programs for common phonological processes.
Assesses 15 phonological processes in speech of preschool children. Also helpful with older children who have
articulation/ phonological disorders.
The KLPA makes use of 44 words elicited by the Goldman-Fristoe Sounds-in-Words Subtest. With the
Goldman-Fristoe the KLPA makes a very comprehensive analysis of speech disorders to help set therapy goals.
