The Edmark Reading Program, Level 2, is an extension of Level 1 for students who have successfully completed
Level 1
but are not yet ready for a more traditional reading approach. Level 2 continues to provide students with
one-on-one teacher-to-student lessons.
Level 2 introduces 200 new words, including compound words, as well as reviewing and reinforcing words
introduced in Level 1.
It introduces new graphics and two adolescent characters, Judy and Scott, who are the focus of real-life situation
stories.
The Story Books include 100 illustrated stories. Picture/Phrase Card lessons represent a broad diversity of
people, role models, and settings.
Comprehension questions focus students' attention on the meaning within the stories.
At 10-word intervals, review and test activities are provided, allowing teachers to test student knowledge of the
words they are learning.
Short instructional steps, repetition, and constant positive reinforcement build self-confidence in the student.
A Teacher's Guide provides learning objectives, classroom activity ideas, and research references.
Student Record Books assist teachers in tracking student progress throughout the program.
