READINESS FOR ALPHA SEA TRIALS (SUBMARINES)<br />

3. THIS CERTIFICATION IS VALID THROUGHOUT TRIALS UNLESS A DEFICIENCY HAS BEEN<br />

DISCOVERED. SHIP SPEED IS RESTRICTED TO LESS THAN 20 KNOTS WHEN A FBW SCS FAULT<br />

CONDITION RESULTS IN A MAJOR NON-CONFORMANCE AFFECTING CONTROL OF SHIPS PITCH,<br />

HEADING, DEPTH OR CONTROL SURFACES. THESE DEFICIENCIES MUST BE REPORTED TO<br />

NAVSEA AND THE APPROPRIATE <strong>FLEET</strong> AND TYPE COMMANDERS. PREVIOUS NAVSEA<br />

CERTIFICATION OF THE FBW SCS MATERIAL CONDITION SHALL BE SUSPENDED UNTIL NAVSEA<br />

REVIEWS THE REPORT AND CERTIFIES TO THE TYCOM THAT THE FBW SCS MATERIAL CONDITION<br />

IS SATISFACTORY FOR SEA TRIALS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SEA TRIAL AGENDA APPROVED<br />

BY REFERENCE E. THE SHIP'S SPEED IS RESTRICTED TO LESS THAN 20 KNOTS UNTIL<br />

SATISFACTORY RESOLUTION OF THE MAJOR NON-CONFORMANCE AND TYCOM APPROVAL TO<br />

OPERATE THE FBW SCS TO PREVIOUSLY AUTHORIZED CONDITIONS IS GRANTED, UNLESS<br />

SPECIFICALLY ADDRESSED IN THE SEA TRIAL AGENDA.<br />

4. REQUEST NAVSEA PMS< > BE INFO ADDEE ON ALL SEA TRIAL SITREPS.<br />

5. RECOMMENDATION TO AUTHORIZE DIVING WILL BE ADDRESSED BY SEPCOR.<br />

(1) Subject to Program Manager approval, cumulative lists of conditional Deviations and Waivers which are deemed too lengthy for messages may be<br />

communicated in a letter format, with the letter referenced by the applicable message.<br />
