VI-3.2.1 Submarine Fleet<br />

Modernization Program<br />

• Inform FMA of upcoming availabilities<br />

• Monitor FMA modernization and availability<br />

planning<br />

• Establish installation priorities<br />

• Ensure no action is taken to accomplish<br />

alterations which are not authorized for<br />

accomplishment<br />

• Maintain a file of alteration briefs<br />

• Assist units in preparation of alteration<br />

requests<br />

• Identify deficiencies and changes to hull<br />

applicability of alterations<br />

• Ensure only TYCOM authorized or partially<br />

completed alterations appear on CSMP<br />

• Ensure MJC contains all alterations authorized<br />

for completion<br />

• Ensure appropriate reports are collected prior<br />

to end of availability and critical operations<br />

• Ensure RPCCRs are distributed to ship's CO<br />

• Schedule required ship checks<br />

• Ensure situational alterations are accomplished<br />

• Inform ships of alterations planned during an<br />

availability<br />

• Review reports of alteration completions<br />

during CNO availabilities<br />

• Ensure Forces Afloat alterations are completed<br />

to maximum extent prior to CNO availability<br />

• For deploying units, provide to FMA a list of<br />

alterations to be completed during deployment<br />

upkeep<br />

• Allocate portion of FMA ROV for procuring<br />

alteration material for installation by Forces<br />

Afloat<br />

• Before installation begins, ensure MOA is in<br />

place for any alteration accomplished by<br />

industrial activity<br />

• Ensure installation of TEMPALTs/OPALTs is<br />

in accordance with reference (e)<br />

• Ensure alteration by AIT in accordance with<br />

reference (f)<br />

• Ensure FMA obtains TYKITs RFI<br />

• Ensure no action taken to obtain material for<br />

alterations designated as TYKITs<br />

• Ensure category "A" A&I's completed within<br />

12 months<br />

• Maintain a current status of alterations<br />

• Prepare and forward TAMs<br />

• Ensure FBW SCS alterations in accordance<br />

with reference (g)<br />

VI-5.6.2 Common Assessment Program • Submit recommendations to TYCOM to<br />

support scheduling<br />
