q. Check operation of magazine/pyro locker flooding if not tested in industrial activity. (See Note 1).<br />

r. Rendezvous with escort. Conduct radio and sonar communications checks. (See Note 2).<br />

s. Test all bottomside sonar.<br />

t. Test bow/sail and stern plane operations in all modes.<br />

u. Flood variable tanks to computed compensation.<br />

v. Record megger readings of all antennas where meggering is permissible. (See Notes 1 and 10).<br />

w. Operate trim and drain pumps. (See Note 3).<br />

x. Test variable ballast system for proper operation.<br />

NOTE: CONDUCT PARAGRAPHS 1 AND 3 OF URO MRC 022 (DOCKSIDE OPERATION OF EMBT<br />

BLOW SYSTEM VALVES) OR EQUIVALENT SHIPYARD TEST PROCEDURE DURING<br />

DOCK TRIALS PER APPENDIX A OF THIS CHAPTER FOR THE TEST OF THE EMBT<br />

BLOW SYSTEM. ENSURE THE REMAINING PORTIONS OF URO MRC 022, THE TEST<br />

OF THE EMBT BLOW SYSTEM, ARE COMPLETED PRIOR TO INITIAL DIVE TO TEST<br />

DEPTH ON ALPHA SEA TRIAL (INITIAL BUILDER'S SEA TRIAL).<br />

y. Perform a low pressure, normal and EMBT blow for as long as necessary to verify system operability.<br />

A static blow shall not be used to test the EMBT blow system.<br />

z. Operate on the Emergency Propulsion Motor (EPM) for 10 minutes. (See Note 1).<br />

aa. Motor generator set operation. (See Note 1).<br />

ab. Ventilate ship. (See Note 1).<br />

ac. Start atmosphere control equipment.<br />

ad. Additional requirements may be imposed at the discretion of the CO.<br />

2. The following tests and evolutions will be carried out immediately prior to or during the initial tightness dive:<br />

a. Obtain navigational fix and take sounding. Maximum depth of water is 400 feet as specified in<br />

reference (p).<br />

b. Conduct a dive to periscope depth. Obtain stop trim, if practical, at periscope depth. If sea state<br />

requires deeper submergence, proceed slowly to 150 feet for SSN 688 Class submarines (155 feet for<br />

SSN 774 Class submarines), (160 feet for SSN 21 and SSBN/SSGN 726 Class submarines) to obtain<br />

stop trim. Maximum keel depth shall be per Table 1 of Appendix F.<br />

c. Check operation of ship control systems, including depth indication. (See Note 4).<br />
