• Provide face to face turnover of MIC Level I<br />

material to SRU Surveyor<br />

• Perform joint inspection of MIC Level I<br />

material with Ship's Force QAI prior to<br />

turnover to contractor<br />

V-I-1.5.16 Ship Responsibilities • Ensure all material under their cognizance is<br />

stored and controlled as required<br />

• Receipt inspect all LI/SS stock program<br />

material, SFCC and NRP received<br />

• Request disposition instructions for rejected<br />

material<br />

• Control previously rejected and now accepted<br />

controlled material as required<br />

• Maintain custody of controlled material in<br />

segregated stowage in accordance as required<br />

• Inspect controlled material storage areas as<br />

required<br />

• Ensure controlled material is properly stowed<br />

and handled<br />

• Ensure nuclear material received without<br />

Ready for Issue tags is certified to the required<br />

"Level of Essentiality"<br />

• Reject unsatisfactory material<br />

• Send any material certification documents for<br />

material which has been provided by the ship<br />

to the RMC/FMA QA office as required<br />

• Perform receipt inspection of package<br />

alteration kits that contain controlled material<br />

when ready for use<br />

• Ensure controlled material markings are on all<br />

pieces when cutting a smaller piece from a<br />

larger one<br />

• Ensure controlled material markings are moved<br />

to an unaffected area, if the controlled material<br />

item will lose the markings due to a fabrication<br />

process (e.g., welding, machining) prior to the<br />

fabrication process<br />

• Ensure all controlled material is identified,<br />

color coded, marked and tagged as required<br />

• Ensure all material under their cognizance is<br />

stored and controlled as required<br />

• Inspect controlled material storage areas as<br />

required<br />
