MAIS AU FAIT QU’EST-CE DONC QUE
CE STRESS QUI FAIT TANT PARLER
ET CONSULTER ?
WHAT IS THIS STRESS THAT SO MANY
PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT AND BEING
TREATED FOR?
For cavemen, stress was essential to their survival. In response to a
potential attack, their hearing sent a signal to mobilise the brain, and
this alert led to the secretion of adrenaline that would cause their pupils
to dilate (so they could see better) and the bronchial tubes to widen (to
increase their oxygen intake). It also caused sugar and fat to be released
into the blood (to provide more energy) as well as increasing blood
pressure and boosting muscle tone. This coordinated mobilisation
provided an instant response to any threat, thus enabling prehistoric
man to escape any danger.
