The study course is envisaged for the students of the professional master programme Professional Musical
Subjects Teacher aiming at acquainting students to the world and Latvian percussion instruments music
literature, peculiarities of musical language of composers representing different countries, basing on
features of genre and style. The objectives of the study course: thorough analysis of the brightest examples
of the world and Latvian percussion instruments compositions and their exploration in the context of
genre and style; analysis of typical stylistic peculiarities in the context of genre ad style; listening to and
analysis of the brightest examples of the world and Latvian compositions for percussion instruments
