Literature of the Piano Music

The course is designed for the students of the professional master study programme Music Teacher of
Professional Subjects with the aim to improve the knowledge of the world’s and Latvian piano music
literature and to study the peculiarities of composers’ musical language, basing on the main
characteristics of the genre and style. The objectives: getting acquainted with the world’s and Latvian
most outstanding piano compositions within the framework of a genre and style; analysis of the
composers’ characteristic stylistic peculiarities in piano music within the framework of the genre and
the style; listening and analysis of the world’s and Latvian most outstanding piano music samples.
