RESULTS

Measures of central tendency (Table 17.2 ) indicated a predominantly young adult,

female sample at the close of their first, post - secondary academic year. The majority

of participants, across all three pedagogical styles, appeared to be engaged in some

type of positive lifestyle management with 82.8 percent (LR), 82.4 percent (PBL), and

71.4 percent (DL), at minimum, in the “ preparation ” stage (stage 3) of the “ transtheoretical

” model. The most frequent lifestyle foci of students at “ stage 3 ” or beyond, initially,

were 33.3 percent addressing physical activity patterns (LR), 47.1 percent

addressing alcohol consumption habits (PBL), and 35.7 percent equally committed to

focusing on activity patterns and nutritional concerns (DL).
