CHES QUESTIONS
The American Association for Health Education (AAHE) is pleased to provide professional
development/continuing education units (CEUs) through the chapters in this
text. Twenty-five of the twenty-nine chapters have been prepared for CEUs with questions
in this appendix. These include Chapter 4 and Chapter 6 through Chapter 29.
It is anticipated that readers will be able to:
• Identify various philosophical approaches to health education and promotion
• Compare and contrast philosophical approaches
• Determine the relationship between philosophical approaches and behavioral
outcomes.
This appendix contains ten questions for each of the twenty-five CEU articles.
The downloadable response form for the CEU questions can be purchased online at
http://www.aahperd.org/bookstore/. Search under “Philosophical Foundations of
Health Education CEU Response Form.”
Twenty-five Category I credit hours for Certified Health Education Specialists
(CHES) are available. However, participants who may wish to complete the hours for
non-CHES professional development credit will also receive a certificate of completion
for submission to other settings or with other allied health professions.
The cost for up to twenty-five CEU credits is $35.00 for AAHE/AAHPERD members
and $55 for non-AAHE/AAHPERD members. Certificates of completion will be
emailed back from AAHE to each participate upon receipt of the completed response
form. Participants may complete and submit question responses for as many as twentyfive
chapters or as few as they like. The cost remains the same as noted above. For
