• PACA costs are the participant costs awarded by the Commission to intervenors with a<br />

substantial interest in the proceeding;<br />

• Legal costs are those costs incurred by Company counsel to review the application,<br />

review in<strong>for</strong>mation request responses, and represent the Company at the oral hearing,<br />

and other participation in the regulatory process;<br />

• Consultant and expert witness costs are required to retain consultants and expert<br />

witnesses <strong>for</strong> the regulatory review <strong>of</strong> the application (including appearance at proposed<br />

oral hearing);<br />

• Travel, accommodation, and miscellaneous costs include those costs related to<br />

attendance at the proposed community input sessions as well as the proposed oral<br />

hearing, as well as various miscellaneous expenses;<br />

• Printing and postage costs are related to the physical production (and mailing) <strong>of</strong> the<br />

exhibits filed by the Company in the proceeding;<br />

• Advertising costs are incurred to publish proceeding notifications, as directed by the<br />

Commission, in print media;<br />

• Oral hearing venue costs are related to the rental cost <strong>of</strong> the venue to be used <strong>for</strong> the<br />

proposed oral hearing; and<br />

• Commission costs are those costs incurred by BCUC staff, consultants, and<br />

Commissioners to review the Company’s application.<br />

Response:<br />

50.2 Please separate the “Consultant” costs <strong>of</strong> $275 thousand per Table 5.1.1.a into<br />

2007 AMI <strong>Application</strong> and 2012 AMI <strong>Application</strong> costs.<br />

Please refer to Errata No. 1 <strong>for</strong> a correction to Table 5.1.1.a from Exhibit B-1.<br />

The $423,000 shown <strong>for</strong> consultant costs are those specific to the 2012 AMI <strong>Application</strong>. The<br />

total consultant costs <strong>for</strong> the 2007 AMI <strong>Application</strong> are $42,431 which are already included in<br />

the total <strong>of</strong> $275,000 shown <strong>for</strong> the 2007 AMI <strong>Application</strong>.
