MALE. Elongateoblong, rather robust, subcylindrical; piceous or black. Head<br />

gray pubescent, with a. median vitta to between antennai tubercles, upper lobe of<br />

eye entirely and lower lobe posteriorly ma.rgined broadly, and front vittate either<br />

side and its entire surface variegated, with ochraceous. Pronotum gray pubescent,<br />

with irregulnr, ochraceous maculae which are more or less confiuent, and with six to<br />

eight small, more or less round, dark brown maculae on disk. Scutellum gray pubes­<br />

cent, with a triangular macula at apex dark brown. Elytra gray pubescent, w1th<br />

very irregular, more or less confluent, ochraceous maculae, these sometimes so num­<br />

erous that in area it exceeds the gray, entire surface (except an indistinct gray<br />

fascia at middle which does not attain suture) with small, irregu.iar, dark brown<br />

maculae which are very numerous, usually there are two larger on each elytron on<br />

posterior margin of fascia; humeri at tips dark brown pubescent around tubercle.<br />

Beneath reddish-brown, densely gray pubescent, sternal side-pieces, met.asternum<br />

laterally, and a vitta either side of abdomen which does not attain fifth sternite, och­<br />

mceous, a small, round macula either side of metasternum and onc either side 011<br />

each sternite except fifth, dark brown, first, second, ami third stcrnites sometimes<br />

with a much smaller one at extreme lateral margin at bnse. Legs piceous or dark<br />

brown, gray and ochraeeous varicgnted; meso- and meta femora at apex with an irregular<br />

dark brown fascia, this sometimes present on profcmora but only very indls<br />

tinctly so; tarsi gray bterally, dark brown medially. Antennae with seape piceous,<br />

grny pubescent, sometimes feebly variegated with ochraceous; third segment dark<br />

reddish-brown, remaining segments piller, from third gray pubescent, from fourth<br />

the apical halves dark brown pubescent.<br />

Head above finely alut.aceous, with well-spaced fine punctures, 3. median im­<br />

pressed line from occiput to near epistorna; front elongate, gradually widened to<br />

epistorna, finely, densely punctate, with many coarse, deep punctures interspersed;<br />

gena elongate, with a few coarse, deep punctures; eye with lower lobe elongate-ovatc,<br />

two times genal height; antennal tubercles approximate,' prominent; produced at<br />

apex into a robust, subacute tooth directed upward. Pronotum transverse, sides<br />

arcuate, base slightly wider than apex; apical transverse sulcus abruptly eurvcd at<br />

middle, basal sulcus shallow, oblique laterally; disk at middle with 11 broad, feebly<br />

elevated tubcrcle, surface with wcll-spaced coarse punctures; lateral tubercles mod­<br />

erate with an obtuse apex, base of these and of disk with a. few punctate granules<br />

bearing setae. Scutellum transverse, sides feebly arcuate, apex broadly rounded.<br />

Elytra with sides feebly widened behind middle, thence rounded to apices which are<br />

broadly rounded together; bllsal half of disk moderately, coarsely punctate, apical<br />

half with punctures smaller and sparser; humeri prominent, Rilterior margin arcu­<br />

ate, angle with a. large, broad, rounded tubercle. Prosternum simple, much widened<br />

posteriorly ; mesosternal process broad, sides straight, apex subtrunCAte or feebly<br />

emarginate; fifth sternite about one-fourth again as long as fourth, feebly emarg­<br />

inate at apex. Proeoxae globose, with a. robust, subacute tubercle; profemora very<br />

gradually clavate, robust, finely rugose on basal half, remaining femora more<br />

abruptly clavate; protarsi somewhat dilated. Antennae about one and two-thirds<br />

to one and throe-quarters longer than body; scape cylindrical, only feebly clavate,<br />

nearly attaining middle of pronotum, basally one or two deep grooves internally<br />

and externally, remaining surface moderately, densely punctate; third segment<br />

about one and one-half times as long as scape, somewhat thickened, straight;<br />

fourth about one-third shorter than third, basal half slightly enlarged; remaining<br />

segments slender, gradually shorter, except eleventh which is slightly longer than
