Somewhat smaner than the other species but closely resembling<br />

syrinx. The elytral fascial however, is very obsolete, and<br />

pronotal discal tubercles are feebly elevated.<br />

:MALE. Elongate-ovate, robust, suooylindrical, elytra subconvc."'\ ; head and<br />

pronotum piceous or black, elytra dark reddish-brown. All over thinly yellowisb­<br />

gray pubesccnt., nearly immnculate; 11 short, indistinct vitta basally and more or<br />

less laterally on pronotum, sometimes continued very short.ly on each elytron just.<br />

above humeri; each sternite with a small, more or less elongate macula each side.<br />

Head ahove finely nlut:l.ceous, (L median impresscd line from oeciIl\lt to near<br />

epistorna; front elongate, Mrrow, widened bclow lower lobe of eyes, surface finely<br />

alutacco\1s; genae feebly pubescent, alutaceous; lower lobe of eye oblong-ovate, a<br />

little more than twice genal height; antennal tubercles distant, prominent, nt apex<br />

produced into a very short, robust proo which is curved posteriorly. Pronotum<br />

transverse, sides straight., base wo-thirds wider than apex; npic.'ll sulcus only feebly<br />

interrupted at middle, bnsal one eithcr sidc foveate and thence oblique to middle<br />

lal.cnltly ; not firmed laterally, with a few setigerous punctate grnnulcs near base.<br />

ScutclJum tnlnsverse; sides nearly straight, oblique; apex broadly rounded, feebly<br />

notched medially. Elytca with sidcs nearly strnight, moderately nLtenuate apically;<br />

apices roundod separately; each elytron at base very feebly gibbose, basal half with<br />

coarse, close-set punctures, thence to apex punctures much finer; humeri promi­<br />

nent, anterior margin nearly stnlight, very oblique, angle obtuse, posterior margin<br />

with a carina extending to basal rthird. Prosternum only slightly widcncd behind<br />

middle of procoxae; metasternum deeply, bilobed1y emarginnte apically; fifth ster·<br />

nite about one-third longer than fourth, feebly emarginatc apically. Procoxae<br />

globose, with a. feeble obtu:e tubercle internally; profemorn robU3t, gradually cla­<br />

vnle, transversely rugose dorsally tlnd ventrally on basal third, remnining femora<br />

more abruptly ciaV1l.te; metatibiae widened llpically; protar$i slightly dilated. An­<br />

temme slightly longer than body; scapc robust, gradually clavate, roaching to<br />

apical third of pronotumj third segment nearly straight, one-fourth Ilgaiu as long<br />

as scape ; fimbriate fun length, fringe slightly heavier on scape and third segment.<br />

LENGTH 8.5-9.5 mm.; width 3-3.5 mm.
