Pronotum transverse, base slightly wider than apex, conical, unarmed laterally;<br />

disk with five tubercles. Scutellum transverse. Elytra with Bides nea.rly straight,<br />

gradually n'ttenuate apiclllly, apices separately rounded ; disk with a feeble bnsal<br />

gibbosity, on bnsal half coarsely and seriately granulate-punctate, punctures behind<br />

middle finer and confused; humeri prominent, angle with a. large, rounded tubercle.<br />

Prosternum narrow, simple; mesosternal process broad, sides emarginnte, apex bi­<br />

lobedly ema.rginate. Legs wanting; procoxae (female) subglobose, with an obtuse<br />

tubercle. Antenna.e (female) as long as body; scape slender, . capirtate on apical<br />

one-third, reaching to just before middle of pronotum; third I:!lightly bisinuate,<br />

about as long as first.<br />

Most nearly resembles E1dhima "odens, especiaUy in being se­<br />

riately punctate on entire basal balf of elytra. But, in tIle present<br />

case, the anterior punctures bear granules j the pl'onotum is UD­<br />

armed laterally, conical in shape ; the antennae have the scape slen­<br />

der, capitate on apical one-tbird, and tlle third segment no longer<br />

tllEln first.<br />

FEMALE. Elongate-ovate, rather robust, dark reddish-brown or {uscous, dense­<br />

ly covered with bright fulvous pubescence, slightly mottled with dark brown. Pro­<br />

notum each side of disk with a large, oval macula of dark brown that covera the<br />

tubercles, on hind angles lin indi=:tinct vitta of fulvous. Scutellum largely brownish<br />

pubescent, toward edges becoming fulvous. Elytra with broWn pubescence in and<br />

behind the basal pUllctures, forming broken, Darrow strips, behind middle with .!l.<br />

number of short, irregular, broad, coalescent vittac of tho same color, leaving Il<br />

strongly oblique, curved, narrow fascia of fulvous at middle, this runs from center<br />

of side margin, ascends onto disk, whel'e it bends 8Uddenly apical!y and continues to<br />

apiclli one-third of suture. Body beneath reddish-brown, densely fulvous pubescent;<br />

abdomen nearly fuscous, covered with very ahorl, brown pubescence, laterally in­<br />

distinctly vittate with fulvous, the vittae much widened towards apex. Antennae<br />

fuscous, basal two-fiftllS of each segment beginning with fourth pale rosy; dark<br />

brown pubescent, pale bases hoary, much of scape and bns..'l.l two-thirds of third<br />

segment covered w;th grayish-fulvous.<br />

Head minutely,. densely punctate, the median imprCS5ed line extending from<br />

occiput to epistorna; front very narrow but not t{lpering above, narrowly concave<br />

between antenna! tubercles, minut-e.ly punctate; genae feebly verticn.l, minutely<br />

punctate, with sparse, fine punctures interspersed; eye with lower lobe voluminous,<br />

broadly oblong, exceeding by two times the height of gena; antennal tubercles<br />

robust, prominent, well separated, unarmed at apex. Pronotum strongly trnns·<br />

verse, sides straight, narrowing to apex, unarmed; apical transverse sulcus broad<br />

nnd shallow, basal one feeble, coalescent with Internl oblique ones; disk with five<br />

more or less rounded tubercles, tho latera! ones most distinct, median one feeblest<br />

and situated basally. Scutellum transverse, triangular, apex broad and rounded.
