"Elongate, black, gray pubescent. Head impunctate; antennac pubescent, immaculate.<br />

Prothorax smooth. Elytra elongate, subparallel; before middle smooth<br />

and sparsely punctate, laterally with two white fascia, arcuate but not joining<br />

suture; apices rounded. Abdomen and legs pubescent, immaculate. Length 9 mm.;<br />

width ;·P/z mm. Cayenne.<br />

Related to O. xylina in shape and form but very distinct from<br />

it in coloration i clytra lack the long stripes of that species, hav­<br />

ing instead a rather indistinct, oblique, brown fascia before middle;<br />

antennae broadly pale basally on fourth, sixth, eighth, and tenth<br />

segments; and the fifth sternite has only a very small pale macula<br />

each side.<br />

MALE. Elongate-ovate, rather robust, elyt.ra slightly depressed; fUSCOllS,<br />

densely covered everywhere with grayish-brown, fulvons, and hoary-gray varieg:tted<br />

pubescence. Pronotum more or less distinctly maculate with brown each side near<br />

base. Elytra with an indistinct, oblirjue, hoary (sometimes variegated with fulvous)<br />

band from humeri to near suture at basal third, behind which is a broader, more<br />

distinct, brown fascia reaching from beneath humeri almost to suture at middle,<br />

lat.erally indistinctly widened, and on disk posteriorly prolonged by irregubr, forked,<br />

brown lines to apex. Body beneath fuseollS, densely covered with hoary, [ulvons,<br />

and brown pubescence, the latter predominating on sterna medially, the fulvons<br />

on sterna laterally and on abdomen medially ; abdomen with five more or less distinct<br />

series of whitish and ochraceollS streaks, one sere.3 medial, one on each lateral<br />

margin, and one each side halfway between margin and middle. Legs fuscous,<br />

hoary-gray pubescent, variegatecl with fulvous and dark brown, on tarsi the latter<br />

color predominates. Antennae fuscous, bases from fourth segment roeate, fourth,<br />

sixth, eighth, tenth, and eleventh more broadly so; covered with brown pubescence,<br />

variegated with hoary, the pale bases and sometimes ninth to eleventh segments<br />

entirely hoary; scape fulvous and hoary.<br />

Hettd minutely, dcnsely punctate, with a median impressed line from occiput .<br />
