Head minutely, densely punctate, with a median impressed line from occiput<br />

to epistorna; front narrowed above, sides straight, nearly parallel, between antennal<br />

tubercles narrowly concave, surface finely, densely punctate ; genae vertical<br />

minutely, densely punctate, with 8parse, fine punctures interspersed; eye with<br />

lower lobe oblong, not quite equal in height to gena; antennal tubercles well separ­<br />

ated, prominent, briefly produced at apex into a short, broad tooth. Pronotum<br />

strongly transverse, sides feebly arcuate, distinctly narrowing to apex, unarmed;<br />

apical transverse sulcus broad and indistinct, baml one more deeply impressed,<br />

coalescent with tbe lateral oblique oncs; disk with five distinct, subequal, prominent<br />

tubercles in a nearly straight line, the median one placed a little more posteriorly,<br />

baS3l half finely and very sparsely punctate. Scutellwn transverse, sides slightly<br />

oblique, arcuate ; apex broadly and distinctly arcuate, not notched nor impressed<br />

at middle. Elytra with sides gradually narrowing to apices, which are separately<br />

rounded; basal gibbosity broad and prominent, narrowing apically, slightly oblique,<br />

irregularly punctate, anterior to each nre two rows of widely spaced granules (about<br />

two granules to a row), remainder of base ocarsely pUllctate, punctures gradually<br />

becoming smaller and obsolete beyond middle; disk posteriorly with three or lour<br />

costae; humeri. promincnt, anterior margin stmight, somewhat oblique, angle with<br />

a distinct tubercle from which extends posteriorly a polished carina, first extending<br />

briefly at less than right angle with the anterior margin, then turning apically<br />

parallel to side, evanescent at basal fourth; sides irregularly and coarsely punctate<br />

to beyond middle. Prosternum unarmed, slightly dilated each side at middle.<br />

Procoxae strongly tumid posteriorly, anteriorly vcry indistinctly tuberculate;<br />

femorn clavate, profcmora not at all rugose; mcto.tibiae unmodified. Fifth strcnite<br />

half again as long as fourth; medially with a linear impression; apex retuse.<br />

Antennae about as long as body, finely and sparsely fimbriate beneath for entire<br />

length; scapc short, strongly capitate on apical two-fifths, not rugose; third !
