impressed. Elytra slightly widened behind nriddle, apices each angularly rounded;<br />

basal glbbosity very broad and feeble, rest of disk only slightly uneven, basal half<br />

coarsely, densely punctate, behind middle punctures suddenly finer and sparser,<br />

obsolete before :tpex; humeri prominent, :tnterior margin strongly rounded, angles<br />

with smtiH but distinct tubercles; sides s1igbtly rugose behind humeri, more sparsely<br />

punctate than disk. Proolernum strongly and suddenly expanded at middle, then<br />

gradually wider bas.'\\ly. Procoxae tumid posteriorly, before with a broad, distinct<br />

tubercle; femora robust, clavate, profemora rugose posterioriy, only feebly so on<br />

anterior face. Fifth sternite slightly longer than fourth, apex hro..'\dly rounded.<br />

Antennae one-third longer them body, eighth segment attaining clytral apex, fim­<br />

briate on proximal four segments, which are all very robust; scape strongly clavate,<br />

especially internally, e.xternally at base slightly rugose; third segment twice lengtb<br />

of first, broaclly arcuate; fourth slightly shorter than third, fifth much shorter than<br />

fourth, rest subequai.<br />

FEMALE. Slightly more robust than male; antennal tubercles only shortly<br />

dentate at apex; JJTocoxae with a very feeble tubercle anteriorly; profemora not<br />

rugose; fifth sternite one-fourth longer than fourth, apex retusc, triangularly im­<br />

presed at middle; antennae equal to body in length, scape and three following<br />

segments more slender, the former not rugose basally; segments from fifth gradually<br />

decrensing in length.<br />

Similar to H. subfasciata but the elytral fascia with more dentations<br />

on posterior margin, less definite ; antennae much longer,<br />

one and one-half or more times length of body; in male third and<br />

fourth segments likewise enlarged; lateral tubercle of pronotum<br />

much smaller.<br />

MALE. Elonga.te-ovate, robust, subeylindrical, elytra subconvex; dark reddish­<br />

brown to fuseous; head, pronotum and elytfll with dark brown pubescence and<br />

with markings as follows: head above with five feeble, lulvous vitt.re, one broader<br />

at middle, one either side of median, feebly arcuate, one either side beh.ind isthmus;
