I-lead minutely, densely punctate, with a. median impressed line from occiput<br />
to epistoma; front concave between ."nlennal tubercles, very minutely, densely<br />
punct."te, with large punctures interspersed, especially on lower half; genae slightly<br />
transverse, sculpture same as that of front; eye with lower lobe broodly oblong,<br />
height one and one-third that of gena; antennni tubercles widely separated, promi<br />
nent, at apex with a short, robust horn directed anteriorly. Pronotum transverse,<br />
sides feebly arcuate, narrowed anteriorly, behind middle with a feebly elevated<br />
tubercle ending in a. short, obtuse process; with an apical and two basal transverse<br />
sulci, the inner one of the latter shallow, oblique over lateral tubercles ; disk with<br />
B feebly raised, broad tumid area at middle, either side with two ,'ery feeble tumes<br />
cences. Scutellum very transverse, sides nearly straight, oblique; apex very broadly<br />
rounded or subtruncate. Elytrn slightly tapering to apex, apices separately<br />
rounded; disk on basal third moderately densely granulate-punctate, these punc<br />
tures sometimes forming rugosities, rest of disk with scattered punctures (in the<br />
dark brown mnculn.e) ; humeri feebly promincnt., anterior margin only slightly ob<br />
lique, angle wjt·h a small tubercle; sides behind humeri rugose on basal third. Pro<br />
stcrnum broadly widened behind middle; mesosternal process cmarginate at apex.<br />
Procoxae prominent, anteriorly armed with :.i long, feebly curved uncus ; profemora<br />
feebly clavate basally, after apical third more strongly so, Oll entire basal two-thirds<br />
strongly transversely rugose. Fift.h sternite only slightly longer than fourth, apex<br />
feebly cmnrginate. Antennae lacking after fiJth segment, fimbriate beoeath except<br />
on seape; scape /!bort, capitate, basaliy beneath with four or five deep grooves ; third<br />
segment nearly twice length of scape, feebly arcuate.<br />

Distinguished from '1'. pupillata by the humeri having only a<br />
single tubercle; antennal tubercles more remote; sides of front<br />
almost parallel i elytrn with the median dark macula Jess distinct,<br />
preceded anteriorly by a broad, yellowish-gray border, base of disk<br />
not striped j and pronotal lateral tubercles with a more distinct<br />
process.<br />
FEMALE. Elongatc-ovate, rather robust, subcylindrical; black, elytra piceous.<br />
Head and pronotum dark brown pubescent, slightly varied with fulvous-grny; ver<br />
tcx indistinctly striped each side of median line with dark brown; front cach side<br />
and pronotal disk medially, vittnte with fulvous-gray. Scutellum dark brown pubes<br />
cent, margined with brighter fulvous-gray, apically more broadly so. Elytra on<br />
basal third dark brown and fulvous-gray v3riegated, rest of disk fulvous-gray, with<br />
very small, sparse, rounded maculae of dark brown ; just behind middle of cach<br />
elytron ." small, more or less round, dark brown macula, its anterior margin indis-
