From H. opalina, which it resembles in lacking a tubercle on the<br />

humeri, it differs in elytra having on disk at base more granula­<br />

tions than pUDctations (the opposite being true of opalina) ; basal<br />

gibbosities shorter, less elevated, and less compressed, their pos­<br />

terior ends nearly attaining suture; humeri with anterior margin<br />

nearly straight, strongly oblique, at angle truncated j Pl'Ollotum<br />

with discal tubercles less elevated j fifth sternite entirely pale pu­<br />

bescent (although thinly so) ; eye with lower lobe broadly ovate,<br />

small, distinctly sborter than gena (only five-eighths height of<br />

gena) ; front distinctly narrowed between eyes j and scape less<br />

robust.<br />

F£MALY.. Elong:l.te-ovn.le, rather sleuder, subcylindric:1.l, elytra subconvex ;<br />

blnekish to brownish-olive; entirely gray pubcsceut, spotched with light brown on<br />

greenish-brown pubesccnce. Scutellum with :1. mrrow, gla.brolls vitta medially.<br />

Beneath dark brown, irrgulnrly clothed with whitish pubescence interspersed with<br />

SInall, glabrous area; abdomen glabrous, shining at middle, laterally white vittate<br />

except on fifth stcrnite where it is ne:l.fly entirely whitc Jlube:!cent. Legs and<br />

antennae dark brown ; legs thinly gray pubescent, femora. with a rather small, indistinct<br />

brownish patch dorsally at apex. Antennae with SCllpe thinly gTllY pube­<br />

scent and with a small, brownish spot dorsll.lly at apex; third segment with bnsal<br />

haIf gray and apical half brownish; remaining segments with basal third gray,<br />

remainder brownish.<br />
