Similar to H. heraldica but the elytral fascia is oblique from hu·<br />
meri posteriorly to suture ; abdomen on each side of 6l'st sternite<br />
with a very large, glabrous macula ; the third segment is much<br />
shorter and more strongly curved than in other members of the<br />
genus.<br />
FEMALE. Elongo.te-ovate, robust, subcylindrical, elytra subeonvex; Ilead and<br />
pronotum fuscous, clytm dark brown. Head and pronotum gray and fulvous varie<br />
gated pubescent; head on occiput with two dark brown vittan, one either side of<br />
middle, converging on vertc,x and extending only to the antennal tubercles, head<br />
laterally dark brown. Pronotum with three indistinct dark brown vittne one at<br />
middle, becoming bright fulvous on npieal half, one either side of middle, morc<br />
lateral, nnd slightly oblique; sides below lateral tubercle, dark brown. Scutellum<br />
dark brown, lateral margins gray and fulvollil varieg:ltcd. Elytra with gray, d:lrk<br />
browll, and fuh'ous pubescence, v:lriegatcd; a rather wide, indistinctly limited, ob<br />
lique, dark brown vitt:!. all each elytran from humeri to suture, bordered on its pos<br />
terior side by a slightly narrower, gray And fulvous variegated vitta; apical one<br />
third morc or less mottled with d:lrk brown pubescence and gray and fulvous varie<br />
gated. Beneath dark rcddish·brown, gray and fulvous variegated, metasternum,<br />
metepisterna and mesosternal side pieces more or less dark brown; sternites one to<br />
four with n row of slUall irregular whitish maeulne either side of middle, first sternite<br />
either side with a large morc or less glabrous area; fifth sternite with grny pubes<br />
cence predominating making it appear much paler than the others. Legs dark<br />
reddish-brown, gray and fulvous and dark brown variegated. Antennae with scape<br />
piceous, remaining segments dark reddish-brown; senpe fulvous, brown and gray<br />
variegated pubescent; remaining segments dark brown pubescent, basal half of third,<br />
basal quarter of four Rnd five and basal half of rcIllilining segments gray pubescent.<br />
Head above finely alutaceous; a median impressed line from occiput to epi<br />
stoma; front feebly transverse, sides straight, feebly oblique to epistomn; surface<br />
very finely densely punctate; genae very transverse, finely alutaceous; eye with<br />
lower lobe oblong-ovate, about two and one-half times genal height; antennal tu<br />
bercles prominent, widely separated, only very feebly, obtusely produced internally.<br />
PrOllotum trnnsversc; sides straight; base and apex subequal in width ; apical trans<br />
verse sulcus straight, basal O[le obfique laterally; disk either side of middle just be<br />
hind apical sulcus with a broad, feebly elevated tubercle; lateral tubercles moderate,<br />
obtusely produced; base of disk and laleral tubercles with a few punctate granules.<br />
Scutellum transverse; sides straight, oblique; apex subtruneate. Elytra with sides<br />
straight, attenuate very feebly; apices each rounded ; base of each elytron with tl
