Resembles H. chaseba and allies in the coloration but is distinct<br />
from all that group in the prollotum having on disk either side of<br />
middle a single, large tumescence (instead of two tubercles each<br />
side) ; clytra distinctly less attenuate, with basal gibbosities much<br />
broader, humeri more projecting, tubercle at angle larger ; eye<br />
with lower lobe longer than gena ; procoxae in male strongly tuberculate;<br />
abdomen medially thinly gray pubescent ; antennae<br />
nearly one and one· half times length of body in male.<br />
:M ALE. Elongate, ovate, very robu8t, convex ; fuscous, densely covered with<br />
pule gray-fulvoU3 }1ubesnmce, mottled with brown. Front lnrgcly brown p\lbe,cent.<br />
Pronot,al tumescences tinged with brown. Scutellum narrowly brown medially.<br />

not paler (nor annulate) basally. Antennae fuscous, segments from fourth narrowly<br />
roseate bastillYi dark brown pubescent, pale bases and bas!l.l half of third segment<br />
hoary annulate; scape fulvous basally, d.'lrk brown toward apex.<br />
