thirds with a narrow vitta and with two vittae either side of middle, fulvous, the<br />

ones nearest middle slightly oblique and converging basally. Scutellum fulvous,<br />

with a very broad vitta of dark brown at middle. Elytra dark brown pubescent,<br />

with fulvous as follows : the vittae of pronotum continued on cxtrcme base and<br />

scattered small, more or less elongate maculae over entire surface, at middle these<br />

more elongate and more or less confluent so as to form an irregular, zigdag fascia,<br />

nearly all the maculae of elytra very narrowly and indistinctly outlined in whitish.<br />

Beneath da.rk reddish-brown; sterna laterally broadly and sparsely fulvous pubes­<br />

cent, this in denser patches forming indistinct maculae, at middle yellowish-gray<br />

pubescent; abdomen at middle, broadly and thinly yel1owisb-gray pubescent, later­<br />

ally each side with two rows (separated by a glabrous area) of fulvous maculae,<br />

t.he internal ones much smaller and lighter in color. Legs dark brown, thinly dark<br />

brown pubescent, with numerous scattered white hairs; extreme apex of femora<br />

with a narrow band of fulvous. Antennae with scape piceous, remaining segments<br />

dark reddish-brown, all covered with dark brown pubescence, basal fifths from<br />

third segment grayish.<br />

Head above minutely alutaceous, with median impressed line from occiput to<br />

nbar epistoma; front elongate, sides nearly parallel, surface minutely alutaceous<br />

and with well-separated, coarse, deep punctures; genae elongate, narrow, thinly<br />

pubescent, minutely alutaceous; eye . with lower lobe ovate about one-t.hird longer<br />

than gena; antennal tubercles widely separated, internally produced into a short,<br />

acute spine which is slight.ly ineurved. Pronotum transverse, base only slightly<br />

wider than apex; a basal and apical sulcus, basal oblique laterally; a lateral tu­<br />

bercle either side very near base; disk with three tubercles, one at middle more<br />

basal, feebly elevated, elongate, one either side of middle, rounded, broad and<br />

moderately elevatcd, more laterally and apically small tubercles not quite in line<br />

with lateral tubercles; base of dik and lateral tubercles with few punctate tu­<br />

bercles. Scutel1um very transverse, nearly twice .'IS wide as long; sides straight,<br />

oblique; apex truncate. Elytra only feebly attenuate apically; apices separately<br />

rounded; base each side with a broad gibbosity oblique toward suture, basal half<br />

rather densely, coarsely, and dooply punctate, sometimes feebly rugose, thence to<br />

apex punctures finer and less dense; humeri only moderately prominent, anterior<br />

margin arcuate, at angle a large rounded tubercle. Prosternum widened behind<br />

middle; mesosternal process angulate, emarginate medially; fifth sternite about<br />

one-third longer than fourth, subtruncate apically. Procoxae globose, internally<br />

with a broad but well elevated tubercle; profemora thick basally, gradually clavate<br />

to apex, transversely rugose on anterior and posterior faces on basal half. An­<br />

tennae about twice body length; scape robust, not reaching middle of pronotum,<br />

gradually clavate, with one very deep and two or three more shallow grooves at<br />

base externally and internally, remainder of surface finely, densely punctate; third<br />

segment slender, moderately sinuate, about two times length of seape, one-third<br />

longer than fourth, remaining segments subequal; eleventh about one and one-half<br />

times tenth; fimbriate moderately on third and fourth segments.<br />

FEMALE. More robust and less attenuate apically; antennal tubercles only<br />

very feebly produced internally; fifth sternit eabout twice length of fourth, at apex<br />

feebly fringed, slightly emarginate and with a shallow triangular impression; pro­<br />

coxae with a very obtuse tubercle internally; antennae about one-fourth longer<br />

than body; scape less robust.<br />

LENGTH 13.5-16.5 mm.; width 5.5-6.5 mm.
