Head mi nutely, densely punctalc, with a median impressed line from occiput to clypeus; front slightly higher than wide, not narrowed above, broadly concave between antennal tubereies, minutely, densely punctate and with fine punctures interspersed; genae vertical, minutely, rugosely punctate ; eye with lower lobe obtong-ovate, distinctly shorter tlUl]) gcnae in height; antennal tubercles prominent, robust, widely separated, armed at apex with a short, obtuse tooth. Pronotum strongly transverse, nearly twiee as broad as long, sides broadly rounded, constricted at apex, lateral tubercles broad, feebly elevated, terminatillg in a long, rohust, obtuse spine which is dcpresed ill cross-section; apical transverse sulcus deep, nearly straight, basal one unequally impressed; disk medially with a broad, triangular tubercle, reaching from anterior sulcus to basal one, eaeh side strongly tumid, the tumescences more or ie:!S divided by a nearly transverse impression, only a few scattered punct-ures b!l83l1y. Scutellum strongly transverse; sides straight, oblique; apex bro:tdly rounded, notched at middle. Elytra with sides only slightly narrowed apically, apices separately rounded ; basal gibbosity prominent, elongate, outlined laterally and broadly posteri.orly by an impression, rest of disk thence with irregular elevations or costae, entire anterior hnlf behind extreme base coarsely, closely punctate, slightly rugose towards middle, behind middle punctures gradually finer and sparser to apex; humeri prominent, anterior margin straight, oblique, the angle with a rather large rounded tubercle; sides behind humeri very slighUy rugo...

Furthermore, it differs in the front being broadly vittate at middle, (not with just two small maculae at center), in the maculation of the elytra, and in the undersurface coloration, particularly the ab domen, which is nearly glabrous at middle and possesses two rows of distinct maculae on each side. MALE. Elongate-ovate, rather robust, above subdepressed; black, thickly cov ered with brownish-gray pubescence variegated somewhat with brown, pale gray, and fulvous. Head above sometimes vittate with brown and fulvous; eye narrowly margined with pale gray; front medially with a broad broken ochrnceous and gray vitta running its entire height. Pronotum with several faint, pale vittle, one much broader on each side. Scutellum brown, basal angles pale gray. Elyt-ra with apices of many of the elevations streaked with fulvous, especially along· suture nnd basally, an indistinct fulvous-gray macula at apical third and another larger apically. Body beneath fuscous, fuivous-gray pubescent, laterally maculate indistinctly but broadly with brownish and brighter {ulvons; abdomen thinly pubescent, medially nearly glabrous, each side with two rows of fulvous mncuiae, one indistinct along margin, the othcr well-marked, half way between margin and middle. Legs blnck, covered by fulvous, gray, and brown variegated pubescence; tarsal claw segment nearly glabrous apically. AntennM black, light brown pubescent, mottled with pale gray, bases of segments from fourth annulate with gray, base of third indistinctly so. He.'ld minutely alutaceous, a median impressed line from occiput to epistorna; Cront broad, slightly widelled above, slightly concave between antennal tubercles, minutely, densely punctate, with a broad band of fine punctures across middle; genae strongly vertical, minutely, densely punctatc; eye with lower lobe oblong, sall, not more than two-thirds the height oC gena; antennal tubercles robust, prominent, intemally armed with a broad, obtuse horn which curvos inwardly. Pronotum strongly tr.'lnsverse; sides broadly rounded, narrowed to apex; iflteral tubercles feebly elevated, broad, terminating in a moderately long, robust, obtuse process; apical trawverse sulcus broad, shallow, wal one strongly deepened at middle and at each side, lateral oblique ones feeble; di.sk medially wi th a broad, nearly circular, low ·tuberclc, each side strongly tumid, each tumescence traversed by :0 curved, nearly transverse impression, base almost impunctate. Scutellum trans verse; sides straight, strongly oblique; apex brOildly rounded, notched finely and slightly impresscd at middle. Elytra with sides Ceebly and gradually tapering pos teriorly, apices each strongly and narrowly rounded ; bas.."\l gibbosity somewhat elongate, not very distinct, narrowing posteriorly, rest of disk with numerous linear, irregular elevations, a rounded impress ion at apical third toward side, basal half finely, rather densely punctate, slightly sparser behind middle; humeri prominent, anterior m:l.rgin slightly rounded, strongly oblique, anglc with a moderate-8ized, oval tubercle; sides behind and below humeri more coarsely punctate than disk. Pro sternum st-rongly expanded at middle, thence posteriorly slight.ly widened. Pro coxae tumid, anteriorly with a large, conical tubercle; femora very robust, clavate, profemora coarsely rugose on basal half of posterior face.
