less projecting, angle obtusely tubercled, with a. short carina. running from tubercle<br />

posteriorly to about basal quarter of elytra.. Presternum simple, widened from<br />

middle to base; mesosternal process shor!., broad, wider apically, apex deeply, bi­<br />

lobedly emarginate. Legs rather short; procoxae globose, dis!.inctly uncate in male;<br />

temora clavate, robus!.; meta tibiae only feebly dilated in male; protnrsi dilated in<br />

same sex. Antennae one and one-bali to one and two-thirds times as long as body<br />

in male, slightly longer than body in female; scape gradually clavate, lower surfaco<br />

not (or feebly) arcuate, nearly attaining middle of pronotum; third segment mod­<br />

erntely sinuate, one-tbird longer t·han scapa; eleventh slightly longer than tenth<br />

in male.<br />

MALE. Elongate-ovate, robust, elytra convex; black or fuscous, covered with<br />

dark grayish-brown pubescence. Head with front dark brown. Pronotum each<br />

side with an indistinct vitta of paler pubescence. Scutellum darker at middle.<br />

Elytra with an indistinct, narrow, pale fulvou.s or ashy fascia extending from sides<br />

behind humerus to suture at apical twofifths, then recurving laterally and covering<br />

most of apical third as indistinct maculae, suture at base similarly ID./lculate. Body<br />

beneath lind legs dark reddish-brown, covered with short, dull fulvous pubescence,<br />

densely and finely mottled with dark brown ; abdomen each side with two rmys of<br />

bright fulvous maculae, one--row indistinct, marginal, the other between margin and<br />

middle, conspicuous, all series confined to basal four sternites; taml claw segment<br />

not paler nor annulate bns..'1lly. Antennae fuscous, grayish·brown pubescent; scape<br />

black, gray and brown pubescent.<br />

Head minutely, densely punctate, a median impressed. line from occiput to<br />

clypeus; front nearly paro.llel-sided, elongate, deeply concave between ani.ennru.<br />

tubercles, minutely, densely alutaceous, below coarsely but very obsoletely punctate;<br />

genae vertical, minutely, densely alutacoous and obsoletely coarsely punctate; eye<br />

with lower lobe more or less oblong, narrower below, about twice genal height;<br />

nntcnnnl tubercles robust, prominent, at apex with a short, acute tooth. Pronotum<br />

slightly wider at base than long, tapering to apex, unarmed; apical transverse Bulcus<br />

nearly obsolete, basal one distinct, straight, coalescent with the shallow oblique<br />

ones; disk with a feetlc, median, elongate tubercle, each side strongly tumid, tumes-
