Species Name Status Habitat Occurrence Notes
Spotted bat
(Euderma maculatum)
Greater western
mastiff bat
(Eumops perotis
californicus)
CSC Found in a wide range of habitats
including open areas, pinyonjuniper
woodland, ponderosa pine,
mixed and high-elevation conifer
forests, sub-alpine meadows
canyon bottoms, cliffs, and
riparian areas from below sea level
to 10,600 feet. Prominent rock
features appear to be a necessary
feature for roosting. Foraging
habitat includes over water and
along marshes.
CSC Occurs in open habitats, conifer
and deciduous woodlands, coastal
scrub, chaparral, desert scrub, and
urban areas mostly below 4,000
feet. It typically roosts in caves,
crevices, or other rock formations,
and requires open areas for
foraging. Recent surveys in
California have documented roosts
up to 4,600 feet. Acoustic records
in California document foraging or
commuting at up to 10,000 feet.
The study area is within the known geographic and
elevational range and suitable habitat is present.
The species has been documented in the watershed.
This species has been documented in the Tahoe
National Forest; however, no specific site information
is available for this record. The species was not
documented during the special-status bat relicensing
studies.
