Three of the minor airports/airfields referred to in TABLE 9.1 w ere further
investigated, namely:
• AerovaalAirport (Vereeniging Aerodrome), near Meyerton
(EmfuleniMunicipality);
• Heidelberg Airfield, near Heidelberg (LesediMunicipality); and
• Vanderbijlpark Airfield, Bophelong (EmfuleniMunicipality)
In addition to the airports/airfields situated in Sedibeng, there are major airports of
importance outside Sedibeng, most notably:
• OR TamboInternationalAirport (ORTIA), KemptonPark;
• RandAirport, Germiston;
• LanseriaAirport, Johannesburg;
• GrandCentralAirport, Midrand; and
• WonderboomAirport, Tshw ane
