j) The Consultant shall identify all decorative <strong>and</strong> miscellaneous elements of the vault space <strong>and</strong><br />

contiguous areas including, but not limited to, floor coverings, ceiling <strong>and</strong> wall treatments/materials,<br />

built-in furniture, closure doors (type/material).<br />

k) The Consultant shall prepare complete architectural plans, sections, <strong>and</strong> elevations, <strong>for</strong> each vault<br />

identified, complete with framing plans, plumbing <strong>and</strong> wiring location diagrams, <strong>and</strong> dimensions to<br />

adequately present the survey data. Drawings shall be in contract document <strong>for</strong>mat <strong>and</strong> contract<br />

document drafting quality to a scale <strong>and</strong> sheet size as approved by the Department, <strong>and</strong> shall be fully<br />

referenced to the approved index system. Each house number shall be <strong>for</strong>matted on a separate<br />

sheet. Architectural plans shall be used <strong>for</strong> submission to the Buildings Department, <strong>for</strong> preparation of<br />

vault rehabilitation contract documents <strong>and</strong>/or other purposes as deemed appropriate by the<br />

Consultant, <strong>and</strong> shall incorporate all data obtained during the Level I Program <strong>for</strong> research <strong>and</strong><br />

inspection.<br />

l) The Consultant shall fully develop <strong>and</strong> coordinate special conditions, provisions <strong>and</strong> <strong>requirements</strong>,<br />

including but not limited to maintenance of pedestrian <strong>and</strong> vehicular traffic, maintenance of frontage<br />

access, working hours <strong>and</strong> work schedules <strong>for</strong> the proposed in-depth vault exploration work.<br />

m) The Consultant shall prepare an estimate of cost <strong>for</strong> the proposed work with unit prices based on<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation available from the City, other sources, <strong>and</strong>/or labor material analyses, as required.<br />

n) The Consultant shall submit the original of all non-st<strong>and</strong>ard specifications, all special provisions <strong>and</strong><br />

itemized cost estimate in a <strong>for</strong>mat as directed by the City. The originals shall be suitable <strong>for</strong><br />

reproduction <strong>and</strong> binding as required.<br />

o) The Consultant shall provide the <strong>services</strong> of a survey party to adequately check contractor's work on<br />

the in-depth exploration.<br />

p) Consultant shall provide resident <strong>services</strong> to observe <strong>and</strong> set-up test procedures, record data <strong>and</strong><br />

per<strong>for</strong>m other specialized <strong>services</strong> as required to adequately complete the in-depth exploration<br />

program.<br />

q) The Consultant shall present all data, results <strong>and</strong> in<strong>for</strong>mation in a report <strong>for</strong>mat.<br />

r) The Consultant may combine the in-depth vault exploration work with any Subsurface Exploration<br />

Program required under separate tasks that are included in the Specific Requirements of this Contract,<br />

upon written approval by the City.<br />

s) The Consultant shall evaluate the results of the in-depth exploration program to verify the<br />

appropriateness/adequacy of the data obtained <strong>for</strong> the purposes of successfully completing the vault<br />

program.<br />

t) All required Department of Transportation street opening permits in conjunction with the exploration<br />

program shall be paid by the Consultant, with reimbursement as an out-of-pocket expense. All<br />

insurance <strong>requirements</strong> shall be maintained in full <strong>for</strong>ce.<br />

2. Level IV Program - Recommendations <strong>and</strong> Identification of Vault Treatment Alternatives.<br />

a) The Consultant shall review <strong>and</strong> analyze all available vault data obtained in connection with the vault<br />

program, <strong>and</strong> shall synthesize the data with a view to developing recommendations <strong>and</strong>/or alternatives<br />

in connection with the disposition of each vault. The Consultant shall become familiar with the<br />

proposed sidewalk surfacing treatment of the street improvement project, <strong>and</strong> shall integrate the<br />

treatment with the vault program.<br />

b) The Consultant shall evaluate the following vault disposition alternatives:<br />
