The above tasks are described in detail in Section 4 of the General Requirements.<br />

When the Consultant <strong>and</strong>/or DDC identify that the Project has a potential <strong>for</strong> use of the sustainable <strong>design</strong>s <strong>for</strong> any of the<br />

tasks provided in the scope of <strong>design</strong> Services, the Consultant shall incorporate these <strong>design</strong>s during development of such<br />

tasks as the Schematic L<strong>and</strong>scape <strong>and</strong>/or Urban Design, Roadway Pavement Design <strong>and</strong> any other street elements. The<br />

Consultant shall follow High Per<strong>for</strong>mance Infrastructure-Best Management Practices (BMP) based on the core principles of<br />

sustainable <strong>design</strong>, as described in the DDC High Per<strong>for</strong>mance Infrastructure Guidelines, during the per<strong>for</strong>mance of the<br />

Design <strong>services</strong>. The Consultant shall analyze the environmental, social <strong>and</strong> economic benefits of each alternative <strong>and</strong><br />

include the results of its studies <strong>and</strong> its recommendations in a report. In addition, the Consultant shall include the approved<br />

<strong>design</strong> alternative in the PDI report.<br />

B. Additional Professional Services: During the term of the Contract, the Consultant may be directed in writing to<br />

provide Additional Professional Services <strong>for</strong> the Project. The Consultant shall provide such Additional Professional<br />

Services, if so directed. The method of payment <strong>for</strong> Additional Professional Services shall be on a Time Card basis in<br />

accordance with the All Inclusive Hourly Rates set <strong>for</strong>th in the Contract or through a negotiated fee included in a registered<br />

change order. In the case of a project specific contract, the negotiated fee will be included in a change order. In the case<br />

of a <strong>requirements</strong> contract, the negotiated fee will be included in a supplemental task order.<br />

C. Reimbursable Services: The Consultant may be directed by the Commissioner to provide Reimbursable Services<br />

<strong>for</strong> the Project, as set <strong>for</strong>th below. The Consultant shall provide such Reimbursable Services, if so directed in writing by<br />

the Commissioner. The Consultant shall provide such Reimbursable Services through entities approved by the<br />

Commissioner, <strong>and</strong> shall utilize the method of procurement <strong>and</strong> <strong>for</strong>m of payment directed by the Commissioner. The<br />

Consultant is not entitled to payment <strong>for</strong> professional <strong>services</strong> to procure, manage <strong>and</strong> supervise Reimbursable Services<br />

required in connection with Preliminary Design Services <strong>and</strong> Final Design Services.<br />

Reimbursable Services shall be such <strong>services</strong> determined by the Commissioner to be necessary <strong>for</strong> the Project, <strong>and</strong> may<br />

include, without limitation, the <strong>services</strong> set <strong>for</strong>th below:<br />

Subcontractor <strong>services</strong> <strong>for</strong> borings, excavation of test pits, cleaning <strong>and</strong> television inspection <strong>and</strong> video tape<br />

recording of sewers, <strong>and</strong> phase I testing <strong>and</strong> specifications <strong>for</strong> hazardous waste.<br />

Laboratory <strong>services</strong> <strong>for</strong> soil classification or other necessary testing or analysis.<br />

Printing of <strong>design</strong> documents, except <strong>for</strong> printing per<strong>for</strong>med in the Consultant’s office.<br />

Long distance travel. In the event the Consultant is directed in advance in writing by the Commissioner to<br />

provide <strong>services</strong> which require long distance travel, the Consultant shall be reimbursed <strong>for</strong> expenses incurred<br />

in connection with such long distance travel. Long distance travel shall mean travel which is in excess of 75<br />
