Documents as provided <strong>for</strong> in the Street Design Task included in the Specific Requirements of this Contract.<br />

Consultant shall submit to the Division of Signals <strong>and</strong> Street Lighting, <strong>for</strong> record purpose, the following:<br />

The<br />

a) A set of final drawings on mylar <strong>for</strong> the Street Lighting Work;<br />

b) A copy of the final estimate <strong>for</strong> Street Lighting Work;<br />

c) The photometric calculations using maintenance factors of 1 <strong>and</strong> 0.58.<br />

4.22 TRAFFIC SIGNALS SYSTEM DESIGN<br />

1. Under this task the Consultant shall <strong>design</strong> traffic signals <strong>and</strong> appurtenances in connection with traffic controls<br />

required <strong>for</strong> streets within the project <strong>and</strong> shall prepare cost estimates <strong>for</strong> the proposed Traffic Signal Work. The <strong>design</strong><br />

will include provisions <strong>for</strong> modification, removal <strong>and</strong> relocation of existing traffic signal facilities <strong>and</strong> installation of new<br />

traffic signal facilities.<br />

2. The <strong>design</strong> shall con<strong>for</strong>m to the latest st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>and</strong> specifications of the Department of Transportation, Bureau of<br />

Traffic, Division of Signal Controls.<br />

3. The Consultant shall <strong>design</strong> the locations of traffic signal poles in coordination with the schematic geometric <strong>design</strong><br />

developed <strong>for</strong> the project including, but not limited to, traffic lane(s) configuration, pedestrian crosswalks, traffic flow<br />

direction, mall <strong>and</strong> roadway widths, <strong>and</strong> pedestrian ramp locations.<br />

4. The Consultant shall review available subsurface data <strong>and</strong> inspect existing buildings in the vicinity of proposed<br />

Traffic signal poles to identify possible impacts with proposed traffic signal pole foundations.<br />

5. The Consultant shall prepare preliminary drawings, showing the location <strong>and</strong> details of all traffic signal poles, mast<br />

arms, signal heads, cables, conduits, traffic controllers, <strong>and</strong> loop detectors <strong>and</strong>/sensors that are to be removed, relocated,<br />

modified, or installed in connection with the proposed Traffic Signals <strong>design</strong> <strong>and</strong> shall submit the preliminary drawings to<br />

the Department of Transportation, Bureau of Traffic, Division of Signal Controls <strong>for</strong> review <strong>and</strong> comments.<br />

6. Drawings prepared <strong>and</strong> symbols used shall be in st<strong>and</strong>ard Bureau of Traffic, Division of Signal Control’s <strong>for</strong>mat.<br />

7. The Consultant shall address the review comments <strong>and</strong> incorporate the <strong>requirements</strong> of the Division of Signal<br />

Control into the proposed <strong>design</strong>.<br />

8. The Consultant shall prepare preliminary estimates of quantities <strong>and</strong> cost <strong>for</strong> the proposed Traffic Signal Work<br />

based on the revised preliminary drawings. The estimates shall be in st<strong>and</strong>ard Division of Signal Control <strong>for</strong>mat. The<br />

Consultant shall incorporate the preliminary estimate of quantities <strong>and</strong> cost into the Consultant’s Estimate <strong>for</strong> Mass Mailing<br />

No. 2 as provided <strong>for</strong> in the Quantity <strong>and</strong> Cost Estimating Task included in the Specific Requirements of this Contract.<br />

9. The Consultant shall prepare <strong>and</strong> submit pre-final drawings, <strong>for</strong> the proposed Traffic Signals, to the Division of<br />

Signal Control <strong>for</strong> review <strong>and</strong> approval.<br />

10. The Consultant shall prepare <strong>and</strong> submit to the Division of Signal Control, <strong>for</strong> review <strong>and</strong> approval, pre-final<br />

estimates of quantities <strong>and</strong> cost <strong>for</strong> the proposed Traffic Signal Work.<br />

11. The Consultant shall revise the pre-final drawings <strong>and</strong> estimates to incorporate comments received from the<br />

Division of Signal Control.<br />

12. Upon receipt of approval of the drawings <strong>and</strong> estimates <strong>for</strong> proposed Traffic Signal Work from the Division of Signal<br />

Control, the Consultant shall incorporate the final Traffic Signal plans <strong>and</strong> estimates into the Final Contract Documents.<br />

4.23 DESIGN OF RETAINING WALLS AND BULKHEADS<br />

1. Under this task the Consultant shall develop Final Design(s) <strong>for</strong> retaining walls <strong>and</strong> bulkheads including but not<br />

limited to waterfront structures.<br />

2. PRELIMINARY CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT DRAWINGS<br />

a) The Consultant shall study the findings <strong>and</strong> recommendations of any embankment protection study that was<br />

previously conducted <strong>for</strong> the project.<br />
