multiple warning phenomenology — Deriving warning information from two or more<br />

systems observing separate physical phenomena associated with the same events to<br />

attain high credibility while being less susceptible to false reports or spo<strong>of</strong>ing.<br />

multiplexer — A device that <strong>com</strong>bines (multiplexes) multiple input signals (information<br />

channels) into an aggregate signal (<strong>com</strong>mon channel) for transmission.<br />

multi-point refueling system — A limited number <strong>of</strong> KC-135 aircraft can be equipped<br />

with external wing-mounted pods to conduct drogue air refueling, while still<br />

maintaining boom air refueling capability on the same mission. This dual refueling<br />

capability makes KC-135s with multi-point refueling systems ideal for use as ground<br />

multispectral imagery — The image <strong>of</strong> an object obtained simultaneously in a number <strong>of</strong><br />

munitions effectiveness assessment — Conducted concurrently and interactively with<br />

battle damage assessment, the assessment <strong>of</strong> the military force applied in terms <strong>of</strong> the<br />

weapon system and munitions effectiveness to determine and re<strong>com</strong>mend any required<br />

changes to the methodology, tactics, weapon system, munitions, fusing, and/or weapon<br />

delivery parameters to increase force effectiveness. Munitions effectiveness<br />

assessment is primarily the responsibility <strong>of</strong> operations with required inputs and<br />

coordination from the intelligence <strong>com</strong>munity. Also called MEA. See also<br />

mutual support — That support which units render each other against an enemy, because<br />

<strong>of</strong> their assigned tasks, their position relative to each other and to the enemy, and their<br />
