CGS from Sentinel-2A or Sentinel-2B, one S2HKTM product containing the spacecraft HKTM
data acquired on board since the last downlink will be systematically generated at the CGS
and published on the FOS interface server.
New data will be available on the FOS server within one-hour after acquisition.
4.10.1.7.3 Service Dependencies and Constraints
No dependencies or constraints are identified.
4.10.1.7.4 Triggering Mechanism and Interface
Service operation will be autonomous. The generated S2HKTM products will be
systematically placed on the FOS interface server according to a well-defined ICD.
4.10.2 SENTINEL-2 COLLABORATIVE PDGS SERVICES
As introduced in sections 4.2.6 and 4.8, the Sentinel-2 PDGS will offer specific collaboration
opportunities aiming, in a harmonised approach, at enhancing the capabilities and scope of
the global GSC through third-party contributions, i.e. beyond the sole scope of the core GSC.
This section describes the two baseline practical collaborative services identified for the
Sentinel-2 PDGS in responding to this global objective.
4.10.2.1 Collaborative Data Mirroring Centre Integration Service
This service aims at supporting the deployment of collaborative centres which, in counterpart
of a privileged access to Sentinel-2 data products, contribute to enhancing the global
Sentinel-2 data-access availability, reliability and performance by locally mirroring the data
from their premises. The following paragraphs describe the specific PDGS service enabling
this collaboration.
4.10.2.1.1 Service Users
Service potential users range from scientific institutions to industrial bodies including GSPs.
Access to this service will cascade from collaboration agreements preliminarily set-up with the
POM.
4.10.2.1.2 Service Characteristics
The service vis-à-vis the peer collaborative entities is characterised by the combination of:
○ Technical support activities regarding the setting up and operations of a PDGS
compatible mirror centre;
○ Operational data supply activities.
Technical support activities include:
○ The provision and maintenance of PDGS standard data-management software to be
installed and operated at the mirror centre for data-reception, housekeeping and
internal/external distribution of products;
