○ The remote query interface offered by the DAX function on the PDIs location through
the federated archives and associated data-sinks (i.e. query requests to the dataaccess
indexes through HTTP for the appropriate DAG server);
○ The interface vis-à-vis the AI function for the required PDIs requests and retrieval;
○ The interface vis-à-vis the DPC function for the triggering of the hosted-processors;
○ The interface vis-à-vis the different Front-End Services (e.g. the MMUS and OLIB
functions) in order to support:
‣ Data location and data retrieval requests submitted by the Front-End Services;
‣ Final products assembly and supply (by the DAG client) to the Front-End
Services;
‣ Hosted-Processing requests from the Front-End Services (i.e. the MMUS
function);
○ The interface vis-à-vis the MMUS function for the supply of statistics and reports on the
supplied PDIs, time to serve a product data item, volumes of data downloaded, etc;
○ Relevant M&C information on the server side.
5.2.3.13 Multi-Mission User Services (MMUS) Function
5.2.3.13.1 Function Objectives and High-Level Description
The MMUS function is responsible for answering to the end-user access service interfaces
defined in sections 4.10.1.1 and 4.10.1.2. As such, it will be in charge of the following tasks:
○ Customer care & management providing on-line user registration and “my account” online
handling capabilities;
○ User groups management according to different levels of data-access (e.g. Cal/Val,
unrestricted, etc);
○ Help-Desk service by management of user inquiries (i.e. web based ticketing tool);
○ Periodical provision of quality updated information on the available Sentinel-2 datasets,
product quality, instrument unavailabilities, etc;
○ Advertising of available mission, instruments and products documentation, including
generic mission description;
○ Centralised user authentication and authorisation (catalogue search, products browse,
product download);
○ Products collection management through the definition of datasets;
○ Specialised datasets definition (logical datasets) based on the products cloud-cover
percentage;
○ Product catalogue including metadata and browse images supporting ingestion and
query capabilities;
○ Graphical products discovery and preview capabilities based on browse products and
associated metadata;
