6.2.3.2 Current Downlink-Pass Level-0 Generation
This scenario stands for the autonomous and data-driven and on-the-flow L0 products
generation activities correspondent to the current downlink pass. The DPC function interfaces
with the DRX function as the supplier of the current downlink pass ISPs raw data (cf. section
6.1.2.3 - Current Pass Data-Reception and Real-Time ISP Supply). Subsequently to the L0
product data items generation, the DPC function invokes the AI function for the archiving.
This processing is performed on-the-flow by way of well defined processing units of fixed
sizes for the MSI.
This processing is performed in a data driven mode as triggered by the DRX function on
reception of data from the satellites.
The uses cases of this scenario are nominal L0 processing activities such as:
○ S2HKTM generation;
○ L0 satellite ancillary data generation;
○ L0 MSI data generation.
6.2.3.3 Previous Downlink-Pass Level-0 Generation
This scenario stands for the operator-driven L0 products generation of a previous downlinkpass
in response to potential contingencies. The DPC function will interface with the DRX
function and accordingly make use of the supported mechanisms for the previous-pass data
forwarding (cf. section 6.1.2.4).
This scenario only differs from the previous one in the operator-driven activation. Once the
operator has triggered the raw data ISPs forwarding from the DRX function to the DPC
function, the latter performs the level-0 processing activities according to the configuration as
explained previously.
The uses cases of this scenario are the L0 reprocessing activities for contingency such as:
○ S2HKTM generation;
○ L0 satellite ancillary data generation;
○ L0 MSI data generation.
6.2.3.4 Data-Driven Processing Orchestration
This scenario corresponds to the autonomous orchestration, commanding and control of the
different processing activities according to the new input data availability.
The DPC function on a data-driven manner, starting from the new L0 data trunks availability
orchestrates the generation activities of the MSI higher level products data. As such, the DPC
function interfaces with the IDP & OLQC functions, which are in charge of the MSI L1A, L1B,
L1C, True Colour Image product data generation and associated QC activities respectively.
The DPC function according to the configuration chains the different processing activities
allowing the execution of multiple and simultaneous activities.
The use cases of this processing scenario are orchestration of the following activities:
