GSC Sentinel-2 PDGS OCD
Issue 1 Revision 2 (draft) - 25.07.2010
GMES-GSEG-EOPG-TN-09-0008
page 308 of 350
The calibration parameters updates (GIPP) are supplied to the MCC function for the release
to the PDGS processing centres.
6.16.4.2 Generation of Level-2 On-Ground Configuration Data
This scenario is analogous to the previous one but related to the level-2 configuration.
Accordingly the MPA function generates the on-ground configuration data for the data
processing associated to the Level-2A hosted-processor.
The list of Level-2 GIPPs and other configuration information data to be generated is TBD.
The Level-2 calibration parameters are supplied to the MCC function for the release to the
PDGS processing centres in which the L2 hosted-processor is deployed.
6.16.4.3 Generation of the On-Board Configuration Data Updates
This scenario stands for the generation / updates on the payload on-board configuration
performed on need basis as result of the performed Cal/Val activities (cf. section 4.5.3.3.2 for
a list of the on-board configuration managed).
The MSI on-board configuration can be generated manually or automatically as result of the
verification of predefined checks on the MSI generated production (e.g. NUC table generation
will be performed automatically).
The MPA function delivers to the MCC function for coordinated release the on-board
configuration data (OBCD) updates according to the formats required by the FOS for uplink
and activation. Typically the update on the on-board configuration is performed together with
the on-ground configuration and as such, coordinated by the MCC function.
The on-board configuration generated by the MPA function is:
‣ The IPS tables (7) in SPF format;
‣ The Thermal Control Module tables (TCM-NOM and TCM-STBY) in SPF format;
‣ The Front-End Electronics table in SPF format;
‣ The NUC table in OBSM format.
6.16.4.4 Submission of MSI Calibration Requests
This scenario stands for the operator driven human requests for specific MSI calibrations to
be routed to the mission planning function as result of the performed Cal/Val activities. In
case such calibrations become cyclic, the POM may assess their inclusion within the HLOP
as part of the operations calibration plan.
This scenario is not supported by an automatic electronic interface but the specification for
calibrations and supply by the MPA Cal/Val expert-team to the mission planning operator
previous authorisation of the POM (e.g. an email with the detailed description of the
calibration requested).
