GSC Sentinel-2 PDGS OCD
Issue 1 Revision 2 (draft) - 25.07.2010
GMES-GSEG-EOPG-TN-09-0008
page 238 of 350
○ Dataflows at the interface are represented with arrows in the direction of the dataflow;
○ The functions aggregated in each centre are represented in circles with a grey
background;
○ A grey vignette on top of each centre external dataflow refers to the network function in
charge of implementing the dataflow defined in section 5.2.5. The vignettes labelled
with “WAN” refer to a communication via third-party networks interconnecting to the
PDGS Network.
5.3.2.1 Core Ground Stations (CGS)
Two distinct Core Ground Station configurations are identified, a basic configuration and a full
configuration.
The basic CGS configuration maps the CGS to a strict data-reception role, ensuring the dataacquisition
from the Sentinel-2 spacecrafts (via X-Band or via EDRS data-relay in Ka-Band)
and safeguarding and relaying of the Level-0 data as received from the antenna.
This CGS minimum configuration is depicted on Figure 5-4 within the “Basic configuration”
outline.
