6.7.3.4 Sentinel-2 Predicted POD Product Supply
This scenario accounts for the autonomous generation of the predicted POD products
according to the POD function configuration. The predicted POD products generation is
schedule-driven for a generation at every orbit.
The following steps are identified for this operation scenario:
1) The POD function in a schedule driven basis (i.e. every orbit) generates autonomously
a predicted orbit product covering the next orbit plus [TBD] orbits according to the
accuracy needs;
2) Based on the configuration rules, the POD will autonomously select and make use of
required L0 ancillary products and related input files;
3) The generated POD file is autonomously delivered to the AI function for later use by
the IDP function.
The use case of the presented operation scenario is the generation of MSI science products
within the 3 hours timeliness constraint in case of contingency with the on-board navigation
solution by usage of the predicted POD products.
6.7.3.5 Monitoring of the On-Board Navigation Accuracy
This scenario accounts for the both autonomous and operator-driven activities performed for
the monitoring of the satellite on-board navigation solution accuracy. The expert-team will
perform different monitoring activities including the assessment of the POD products.
The following steps are identified for this operation scenario:
1) Expert-team triggered activities for the assessment of the on-board navigation
accuracy;
2) Autonomous checks on the Satellite ancillary data (e.g. monitoring for potential gaps);
3) Autonomous checks on the POD products (predicted and restituted products);
4) Autonomous and on-demand reports generation containing the analysis results;
5) Autonomous reports supply to the MPA function for later delivery to the POM.
This scenario will allow assessing the on-board navigation solution accuracy with respect to
the needs on-ground for the MSI processing activities. In addition, the POD products
adequateness is assessed.
